Jesuit Places Map

The above map allows the user to explore the wide variety of locations around the world mentioned in the Catalogus defunctorum. For each location, information about which Jesuits are associated with it is given in a popup box. In some cases, locations are repeated if they are listed in different ways within the dataset (e.g. Roma vs Roma (Italy) ). Zooming in within a particular cluster will make these cases clear.

This map was created using the open-source javascript library LeafletJS and a several plugins, including Leaflet.Pancontrol, Leaflet.MarkerCluster, and Leaflet.Control.Search. See our project praxis page for more details, or return to the map list.
